Louise Hay morning affirmations & morning meditation
Louise Hay's morning practice was short: before the phone, before the news, speak one kind sentence out loud. Her morning meditations are mostly affirmations paced with the breath, which is why they work just as well read as listened to.
- Life loves me, and I love life.
- In the infinite of life where I am, all is perfect, whole and complete.
- I wake up grateful for another day of being me.
- I approve of myself exactly as I am this morning.
- Every thought I think is creating my future, so I choose kind ones.
Mirror work: what it is and what to say
Mirror work means looking into your own eyes and saying your affirmation out loud, using your own name. It feels awkward for the first few days — that discomfort is the point, and it fades. Start with 30 seconds a day.
- I look into my own eyes and say: I love you.
- I am willing to change, and I am gentle about it.
- I approve of myself, exactly as I look right now.
- This face has carried me through everything.
- I forgive myself, and I set myself free.
Louise Hay meditation affirmations
If you have been searching her meditations on YouTube, this is the spoken content without the video: slow, present-tense lines you can repeat on an exhale, sitting or lying down.
- In the infinite of life where I am, all is perfect, whole and complete.
- I breathe in life, and life breathes in me.
- I let go of every thought I do not need to hold.
- Deep at the centre of my being, there is an infinite well of peace.
- I am willing to release the need for struggle.
Heal Your Body: kinder thoughts for physical tension
Heal Your Body paired each part of the body with a gentler thought. These lines follow that spirit for tension, back pain and recovery — they support your care and never replace medical advice.
- I listen with love to my body's messages.
- My body knows how to heal, and I support it kindly.
- I release the tension I have been storing for years.
- Every cell in my body is willing to be well.
- I let go of the need to carry this in my shoulders.
"All is well" — her shortest affirmation
Four words, endlessly repeated in her books and talks: All is well in my world. It is the one sentence most people can still say when everything else feels like a lie.
- All is well in my world.
- I am safe. It is only change.
- Everything I need to know is revealed to me at the right time.
- I am doing better than my anxiety says I am.
- This moment is manageable, and so is the next.
Louise Hay night affirmations & sleep meditation
Her evening practice closed the day with forgiveness rather than a review of your mistakes. Read a few lines in bed and let the day go unfinished.
- I release this day with gratitude and go to sleep in peace.
- I forgive myself for today, completely.
- My last thought tonight is a kind one.
- I let go of everything I cannot solve while sleeping.
- Sleep is safe, and my body welcomes it.

- I trust the timing of my life, even when it is quiet.
How to practise a Louise Hay affirmation
- 1. Pick one line, not ten. Repetition matters more than variety.
- 2. Say it out loud. Silent reading skips the part that changes the tone of your inner voice.
- 3. Use a mirror once a day. Eyes on your own eyes, using your own name.
- 4. Keep it present tense. "I am safe", not "I will be safe one day".
- 5. Anchor it to a moment. Kettle boiling, teeth brushing, lights out — that is what makes it stick.
Questions people ask
Who was Louise Hay?
Louise Hay (1926–2017) was an American author and the founder of Hay House. Her 1984 book You Can Heal Your Life popularised affirmations and mirror work for a mainstream audience, selling tens of millions of copies worldwide.
What is a Louise Hay affirmation?
A short sentence said in the present tense and first person, as if it is already true — for example "All is well in my world" or "I approve of myself". Said out loud, ideally in front of a mirror, and repeated daily rather than once.
What is mirror work?
Looking into your own eyes in a mirror and speaking your affirmation aloud using your name. Louise Hay recommended a minute a day, morning and night, starting with "I love you".
Are these Louise Hay's exact words?
Some lines are her best-known affirmations, widely quoted from her talks and books. The rest are written in her tradition by Healio so you have a full daily practice, not a single quote.
Can affirmations heal a physical illness?
No. Affirmations can lower stress, soften self-criticism and support how you cope, but they are not medical treatment. Keep following your doctor's advice.
Keep the practice going every morning
